Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said that the Interior Ministry is ready to stop any provocations during elections in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
He said this during a conference call at the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk.
"I firmly state that the Interior Ministry is fully equipped with all the necessary reserves in conjunction with the National Guard in order to stop any provocation," he said.
Avakov said that all polling stations in Donbas, which will operate on Election Day, would be taken under special control.
"If someone thinks that he can get a parliamentary seat at the cost of active criminal acts, he will receive the result that the price of the mandate will cost the set [prison] terms, and here we will act decisively," the minister said.
