The UN Security Council will hold an open meeting on the situation in Ukraine. The main focus, as is expected by diplomats, will be paid to the situation of human rights abuses.
It is not ruled out that the theme of the ceasefire will be touched, as well as the upcoming elections to the Verkhovna Rada, TASS writes.
The Permanent Mission of the United Kingdom to the UN, which convened the meeting, said that a report to Security Council members will be made by UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Human Rights Oscar Fernandez-Tarranko and Ivan Simonovic. The latter will present the sixth monthly report prepared by the UN Mission to monitor the situation of human rights in Ukraine.
