Maybe there were made mistakes during was of August 2008 but it doesn't give legitimacy to the occupation of the country, -stated the President of Georgia Giorgi Mergvelashvili in the frame of the official visit in Japan while delivering speech in Sasakava peace fund, reports GHN.
"It is natural that there were mistakes concerning former President or government that always happens while the war, but let me say the truth - these territories are territories of Georgia and Georgia couldn't declare war to Russia on own territory. Maybe there were made mistakes but these mistakes doesn't give legitimacy to the occupation of my country," stated the President while answering question of local journalist if he sees the guiltiness of former President of Georgia during 2008 August war.
As he said after the war 2008 the agreement of Sarkozy and Medvedev was raising the subject of regulation of conflict but not declaring independency of Georgian territories.
