Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, on the day of parliamentary elections in Ukraine, arrived in the town of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region on Sunday and checked the voting process at a polling station, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
Poroshenko spoke with soldiers of a military unit and thanked them for the feat that each of them carries out every day.
"I came here to defend the soldiers' right to vote," he said.
He said that polling stations in Kramatorsk, Dzerzhynsk and Sloviansk had opened and that the authorities would do everything to ensure the safety of the voting process.
The president arrived in Kramatorsk on a helicopter, and before that he inspected the second line of fortification structures.
