Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has voted at snap elections for the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation and expressed hope that it will be possible to form a strong pro-European coalition in parliament, reports GHN based on Ukrinform.
The head of state said this after voting at a polling station at Officers House in Kyiv on Sunday.
"I have voted for a restart of power. I hope that we will have a new Ukraine, as we already have a new president after the Revolution of Dignity. I am confident that we will have a new government, a new pro-European coalition and a new parliament," Poroshenko said, adding that he will be able to form a strong pro-European coalition.
As reported, the president was unable to vote in the morning, because he flew to the zone of the anti-terrorist operation to monitor the electoral process there.
