Georgian president has nominated new members of the Cabinet and announced about the structural changes in the government. Mikheil Saakashvili said the Ministry of Economic Development would be transformed into the Ministry of Economics and Steady Development and a Georgian immigrant, Vera Kobalia will chair it.
President thanked the former minister of economic development Zurab Pololikashvili for the work done; the head of the Road Department, Ramaz Nikolaishvili has replaced the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Davit Tkeshelashvili, who in his turn assumed the office of the president`s administration chief. President presented Tkeshelashvili and his new deputy, former chief of the news department of the Rustavi2 TV Company, Irma Nadirashvili today.
President said Tkesheashvili and Nadirashvili were both successful figures in their spheres and expressed his hope that they would be successful at new positions too.
President said that the Minister of Culture, Monument Protection and Sports would be divided into two ministries - the ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs. The new ministry will be chaired by the former governor of the president to Shida Kartli Region, Lado Vardzelashvili.
Saakashvili has also presented a new deputy to the foreign minister; Tornike Gordadze will chair the Department of European Affairs in the Foreign Ministry.
The former chairperson of the president`s administration, Temur Janashia will chair the State Security Service.
