The Forum of GUAM Young Leaders has kicked off in Azerbaijan`s capital.
The forum brings together representatives of Azerbaijani, Georgian, Ukrainian and Moldovan state bodies for work with youth and national councils of youth organizations.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Intigam Babayev said the aim of the forum is to discuss future international cooperation among youth within the GUAM.
Babayev said the forum would end with the adoption of a declaration, which would emphasize youth`s role in settling unresolved conflicts.
GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili said "such meetings will contribute to increasing the cooperation among the member countries".
Prior to the forum, the participants visited the Alley of Honors to put flowers at tombs of national leader Heydar Aliyev and eminent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
They also commemorated Azerbaijani martyrs who died for the country`s independence and sovereignty.
