Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili met the European Trade Union Confederation General Secretary, Bernadette Ségol. The parties discussed the wide spectrum of the issues related to the human right protection. They spoke about implemented, current and planned reforms in the field of labour and employment in Georgia. The discussion referred to the prospective of labour market improvement, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
European Trade Union Confederation General Secretary expressed the desire of unselfish support in implementation of the obligations undertaken under the Agreement on the Association to the EU.
Head of the Government thanked European Trade Union Confederation for labour right protection and the special affords implemented in this direction in Georgia. ETUC always supported Georgia in the integration to Europe and actively assisted Georgia's trade unions during previous years. During 2009-2012, Bernadette Ségol personally held several important meetings with the representatives of European Parliament in Georgia about disturbing situation existed that time.
European Trade Union Confederation unites the largest trade unions of all the member states of EU and accordingly, it represents the interests of about 60 million of employed people.
