Today, Military servicemen of the Georgian Armed Forces visited No171 Public School and held meeting with the pupils of the elementary school. Soldiers of the 23rd and Special Mountain Battalions handed over the letters the children, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Schoolchildren wrote letters to the Georgian military servicemen participating in ISAF mission within the project "Letter to Soldiers" several months ago. Under the joint project of Defence Ministry, Ministry of Education and Science and LEPL "Crime Prevention Center" of the Ministry of Justice, in total over 200 letters from 171st public school were sent to Afghanistan. The school children were also shown video film covering ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
School children recited poetry and performed Georgian National Anthem for Georgian soldiers. Georgian servicemen handed a symbolic present - Georgian State Flag to 171st Public School on behalf of Georgian contingent participating in ISAF mission. The flag was hoisting on the Georgian base while Georgian soldiers were performing the international mission in Afghanistan.
