On the 30th of October 2014 the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze met the head of the Germany-South Caucasus parliamentary group under the German Bundestag, Mr Karin Shtrents.
The Georgian Foreign Minister highly appraised the growing dynamics generated by bilateral relations between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasizing there Georgia and Germany have seen an intensive level of inter-parliamentary cooperation recently, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Maia Panjikidze paid special attention to the situation in Georgia's occupied regions, to the issues relating to European and Euro-Atlantic integration and to the ongoing processes in the region underlining the importance of the support of the international community and the Federal Republic of Germany, in particular in the given situation when Georgia's security and stability is faced with a serious challenge.
Karin Shtrents reaffirmed the readiness of the German government to ratify the EU-Georgia Association Agreement within the shortest possible terms and to promote the country's successful integration with the European structures.
Maia Panjikidze thanked the head of the Germany-South Caucasus parliamentary group for the German Government's contribution to the realization of Georgia's European aspirations and for the support of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
