Today, State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili conducted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Natasha Prah, reports GHN based on the Ministry of European and Euro Atlantic Integration.
Alex Petriashvili extended his gratitude to the Slovenian side for the firm support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as its European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Ambassador of Slovenia underscored the progress demonstrated in the Association Agenda by Georgia and noted, that the parliament of Slovenia will ratify the Association Agreement between Georgia and EU in the nearest future.
The Ambassador of Slovenia re-confirmed the support to the Open Door Policy of both EU and NATO as well as support to taking decisions on granting the European Perspective to Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova and Visa Free Movement with EU for the citizens of Georgia at the Riga Eastern Partnership Summit in 2015. As Natasha Prah outlined, the importance of these decisions are understandable for Slovenia based on own experience.
The major emphasis was laid upon the security situation in the region. Alex Petriashvili talked about the Russian efforts to annex Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions and stressed the importance of coordinated, timely and decisive actions of the international community to stop Russia.
Europe is not yet free and whole and Georgia should be part of the whole Europe, said the Ambassador.
The discussion also touched upon the bilateral issues and perspectives of deepening economic relations as well as attracting Slovenian businesses to Georgia.
