On the 30th of October 2014, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ms Tamar Beruchashvili met the Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Mr Janos Herman, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two discussed the current issues of the co-operation between Georgia and the European Union; focused on the report published by the European Commission on the 29th of October 2014 on the implementation of the Action Plan of the visa regime liberalization between Georgia and the EU, in accordance with which Georgia has fulfilled the requirements provided for by the first phase of the visa dialogue; therefore, the commission may begin to assess the implementation of the obligations stipulated by the second phase of the Action Plan. The two also noted that this is an important step towards the introduction of the visa free travel regime with the EU.
Talking points also included the issue of implementation and ratification of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the EU. The two also focused on the security and stability in the country and underlined the EU's role in the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Georgia.
Mr Herman reaffirmed his readiness to promote the further enhancement of co-operation between Georgia and the European Union.
