The procedures for granting the citizenship of Georgia will be simplified after the Law on the Citizenship of Georgia will be amended.
According to the current legislation, if a person has been refused to buy, quit or restore the citizenship of Georgia, they can apply to the foreign ministry of Georgia with the repeat request only after a year since the first application.
The draft amendments to the law say that this one year-term will be reduced to six months period. In addition, a person will be deprived of the citizenship of Georgia willingly after he is granted the citizenship of another country.
