The ministries of defence of Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden concluded Agreement on the Exchange and Protection of Classified Information. Head of the Department of International Relations and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the MoD Davit Nardaia and his Swedish counterpart, Head of International Cooperation Department COL Peter Fredriksson signed the document, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
Within the frames of the visit, the sides held bilateral consultations. The Georgian side underlined significance of the NATO Wales Summit results and joining the Enhanced Opportunity Partner`s group along with Sweden.
The directions of future bilateral defence cooperation were identified during the meeting. According to 2015 Bilateral Cooperation Plan, relationship between the ministries includes new spheres such as internal audit, protocol, and NATO classified information security related issues.
The sides outlined that the cooperation between Sweden and Georgia is advancing at a fast pace and expressed hope that the existing partnership will continue successfully. The Georgian military servicemen and civil office staff of the MoD are taking part in various training and military education programs. The military experts of the Kingdom of Sweden are actively engaged in "Georgia IV" project. Under their support the military of Engineer Brigade of GAF underwent a special preparation.
