Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders has said he is sure that now there is no reason to ease sanctions against Russia.
He said this during a debate in parliament, according to the Twitter page of the Dutch Foreign Ministry.
Koenders expressed concern about the possible escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, which will further complicate the investigation at the crash site of the Malaysian Airlines Boeing airliner in Donetsk region.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said earlier that the United States was closely working with European partners to expand sanctions against Russia as it continues its aggression against Ukraine. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also did not rule out the extension of sanctions.
