Mikheil Machavariani, Vice Spokesman is interested with high prices for books in Georgia. This question was posed by Machavariani today during the review of taxation code. Machavariani said that at least 20 GEL one should spend to buy only two books. I cannot understand the reasons for such high prices, he said the papers are more expensive or what reasons are for this.
Giga Gabashvili, Chairman for Education Committee responded him and said the reason for this is a small market for books in Georgia. Gabashvili said that in Europe as well there is a very high price for books. "It is week argument, in Europe everything is taxed and the high prices for them are presupposed by this reason. I am interested why taking in consideration the Georgian reality books are so expensive, "- Machavariani said.
We remind you that parliament is reviewing the new tax code at the moment.
