November 17 is International Student Day. The student of medical faculty Ian Ipletal became victim of the events of October 18, 1939 when Fascist used force against the demonstration dedicated to the day of education in Czechoslovakia. On November 15, on the day of burial of Ipletal the big part of the society held protest rally, reports GHN.
On November 17, 1939 the Fascist forces surrounded dormitory of one of the Universities of Czechoslovakia. Fascists without holding a trial took 1200 students in Zarkshausen concentration camp, nine of whom were brutally beaten and shot. After two years November 17, 1941 was held international student day who were fighting against Fascism. On this day there was decided to announce November 17 as student international day.
