According to the new report of Freedom House in Georgia does not exist not authoritative neither half authoritative government, the same conclusion was made in the report on Ukraine. The new account of Freedom House - "Countries in the transition period" describes the events in 2009.
The report reads that Ukraine reached considerable achievements in transparency, in pluralistic approach and development of democratic media. According to the report Ukraine and Georgia are two post soviet countries except of the Baltic countries, were does not exist not authoritative neither half authoritative regime. On the former Soviet Union territory about 80% of population (220 mn) leaves in the authoritative regimes. These territories have a considerable decrease in all parameters: degradation in democratic processes, nonexistence of fair and accessible justice, regress of media and elections and huge corruption. "Freedom House" pays attention to the fact that in the époque of Putin-Medvediev considerable decrease of democracy is noticeable. This is a period when democratic institutions suffered badly; they were providing a transparency and accountability in the region. The common pattern was a pressure over such institutions and its weakening, - Christopher Woker, expert of the organization said. He believes that such actions of Russian Federation have an influence over neighbor countries and stimulates the authoritarian aspirations of its heads.
