The Georgian Prime Minister, Mr Irakli Gharibashvili, recently met the European Commissioner for Trade, Ms Cecilia Malmström.The main topic of their meeting was the effective implementation of Georgia's Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) Agreement with the European Union, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In this regard, Ms Malmström expressed her office's readiness to co-operate with Georgia towards the implementation of a three-year action plan whose aim will be to help Georgian entrepreneurs enter the EU market more easily.
Mr Gharibashvili noted during the meeting that the Georgian government pays particular attention to transparency and to the participation of civil society during the implementation of the DCFTA agreement, and that there are plans to create a DCFTA Advisory Group which will consult representatives of Georgia's business sector on important issues.
Mr Gharibashvili also briefed Ms Malmström on the various projects which the Georgian government is implementing in order to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
