U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Commander Lieutenant General Kenneth F. McKenzie, Jr. visited the Georgian troops stationed at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, reports GHN based on the Ministry of Defense.
The U.S. General visited the HQ of 51st Battalion of V Infantry Brigade of GAF and got familiar with the duties and tasks of the military unit. General-Lieutenant personally met with the Georgian military and thanked them for participation in the ISAF mission. American General underlined the high level of preparedness of the Georgian soldiers and noted that they are effectively interacting with the U.S. Marines.
51st battalion of V Infantry Brigade of GAF is the first military contingent which launched its mission at the final phase of ISAF international operation. The task of the Battalion is to provide security of the air base.
