A new stage is starting in the relations of NATO-Georgia, - the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili summed up the visit to Brussels.
According to the Prime Minister successful meetings were held in NATO, as well as in the EU Council, Euro Commission and European Parliament. As Irakli Garibashvili noted attitudes are positive and optimistic. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the first meeting of association council of Georgia-EU and stated that it was very productive and effective. "The EU unanimously admits that Georgia has made impressive reforms and it has a number of achievements. Our European friends appreciate these successes that we have achieved for the past two years. They are excited that considering the current economic hardship in the country we have the increase of 6%. It was very important for me to be introduced to the EU management personally", - the Prime Minister stated, reports GHN based on press service of the Prime Minister.
In the nearest future the meetings will be held between Irakli Garibashvili and president of European commission Jean-Claude Juncker and president of European council Donald Tusk. In addition, according to the Prime Minister next year high representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini will visit Georgia.
Irakli Garibashvili also made comments on authoritative ratings published regarding effective evaluation of the government and stated that the rate of effectiveness of the government has reached its historic maximum in the past decade. "This is the result of the policy that our Government has implemented for the past two years. Even according to the risks of corruption Georgia is on the 11th place and it is ahead of European countries. Now it is important to keep our country stable and we will achieve it. It is also the wish of European commissioners that the opposition becomes more constructive", - the Prime Minister stated. According to Irakli Garibashvili the EU also welcomes restrained policy of the Georgian Government towards Russia and is concerned with the possible signing of the agreement on alliance and integration between Moscow and Abkhazia. "When it comes to the territorial integrity of our country we will be very principle and we will not allow any compromise", - Irakli Garibashvili noted.
